The goal of this Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) project is to develop practical data acquisition and analysis tools for geophysical characterization of oil strata and for monitoring of EOR processes in a developed field. A major field system redesign and development effort has been conducted to streamline future operations and produce a robust data acquisition system.

| StatoilHydro, ExxonMobil and Total have successfully demonstrated reliable CO2 sequestration in the Utsira sandstone formation in the Norway North Sea. The three major oil companies have stored 10 million tonnes of CO2 and did not pay any carbon tax to the state of Norway for exploration and development of the Sleipner oil & gas field.
